Introducing: The Swimmer

We have the pleasure of introducing you to The Swimmer, a new band from London.

The mixed group are headed up by Ben and Hannah. In their own words, their sound is "moody Goth Pop" and they take inspiration from artists such as Portishead, PJ Harvey and Nine Inch Nails

A couple of weeks ago, the band did a live session and recorded two of their tracks Paper Lantern and Here We Lie. Both tracks are very atmospheric featuring drums, guitar and synths plus Hannah's smoky falsetto, which gives them a hint of Lana Del Rey mixed with Florence and the Machine - and not just because of the red hair!

Check out the band's performance of Paper Lantern below!

You can also take a listen to The Swimmers' newest track Tombstones on Soundcloud, which once more lives up to their moody sound, with hazy instrumentals that carry a near-hypnotic rhythm. The band describe it as "a gloomy tale set in the slate quarries and mountains of Snowdonia in Wales, inspired by a trip we took there recently, feeling the sky heavy above us."
