Video of the Week: Kizzy Crawford - Gerridae

Source: PR
Gerridae is a timely Video of the Week, considering A Level students found out their results on Thursday. The track by 20-year-old Kizzy Crawford is set to be one of the tracks that A Level Music students study in Wales.

Joining Manic Street Preachers and Super Furry Animals in the contemporary music section set pieces this year is singer-songwriter Kizzy from Merthyr in South Wales. This comes three years after her first single was played by Huw Stephens on Radio 1.

Welsh-Bajan Kizzy is determined to make her mark by fusing bilingual soul-folk jazz and says of her achievement: "I feel honoured to be one of the set piece artists for WJEC, for my work to be considered of enough quality and importance to be included in the national curriculum is high praise for an artist, so it’s an honour."

This is just the next big step in Kizzy's career. Her distinctive brand of folk, soul and jazz has already seen her music appear in adverts for Euro 2016 and the Six Nations. A relaxing downtempo track, Gerridae is perfect for winding down to and would be a great addition to your easy listening playlist.

Check out the animation for Gerridae below, which will be released on Folkstock Records as part of an AA single on 26th August.
